The one and only Jimbo
Thursday was Royal George Charing Cross Road and as always, it was a really fun night. First to the stage was the hilarious one-liner gag machine that is Nigel Wolfin, a man who was once so bad at the egg and spoon race, the egg hatched. Next was Rosie G who showed us all just how to let rip. It was then over to MJ, who recently played an interesting game of Who’s Who with Claudia Winkleman. After MJ was the one and only Jimbo (pictured), aka Elton John’s stunt double. Jenny Jope then demonstrated just why pronouns are actually very useful. It was then over to the fabulous Charlotte Imbert and the tale of the missing tampon. Aarian Mehrabani then exposed Argos for the environmental vandals they really are. Closing the first half was the fabulous Tracey Bowman, ho let us in on just what she keeps in her every day carry of essential handbag equipment.
After the break, and the tale of the most important day in modern LGBT history, we got off to a cracking start thanks to the brilliant Lottie Grogan and the essentials of comedy. It was then over to Prakash Mistry, the comic who’s second to nan. After Prakash was El Dente (aka Alastair Sadler) and the best word play you’ve heard in 3000 years. Just ask his homie Homer. Rob McAlone was next with the trauma caused by the silent ’t’ in mortgage. It was then over to Miles Karter and the problems with Every…and the Yorkshire accent. After Miles was Ajay and the sad demise of the man whose voice could have sold him anything. We then had Ben Ferrey and how to keep your alpha male status while buying a romcom DVD. Our penultimate act was the rally rousing Kevin, Kevin Collins, a man part of the great pantheons of famous Kevinery. Closing the show we had the brilliant Stanislav Gunko, Stan kicked things off with his love of his country’s inspiring democracy; it was a truly amazing two weeks. He also told us that Russia’s national anthem has no lyrics. Teaches you to keep your mouth shut.
