Tuesdays is The Star of Kings and kicking off the show last night was the hilarious Darcy Moreland who has recently started to come to terms with some of his inner thoughts. Next was Bertie Lambert, and if you see him with his later tray, just leave him; it’s a lifestyle choice. We then had Josh Mason, who really can’t face shepherds pie. And trust me, it’s best not to ask why. It was then over to Marc Salmon and just what they used to say before “hello”. Hidehito was next with why sex is the only thing more important than a visa. Declan Evans let us in on a great way to save money on your loved ones funerals before Tony Carr told us how to save cash on a good time. It was then over to the fabulously funny Tracey Davies, aka the 2004 toaster over bus shot put champion. After Tracey we had David Huante and why standing ovations are better than throat “applause”. It was then over to the musical talents of Barbara Fernandez and Parisian sleeping bags and easter dick. Closing the first half was Emmy Fyles. As an up and coming actor, Emmy has cornered the market in whippet bathing, chip pan frying, Northern voice-over acting.
After the beak we got off to a magical start thanks to Adam B and the cards that just wouldn’t stop. It was then over to the brilliant Phil Green and why iron man applications are a red flag to your local mental health services. After Phil was Jack Henison who’s an ageing indie boy, aka postus punkus…and don’t forget it! The puntastic Mark Rivlin was next. Mark can’t stop eating Polo Mints; he has a menthol health problem. After Mark was Jordan Dunbar (pictured) and some climate change comedy with a 21st century supervillain angle. Yes, imagine global warming wearing a black cape and thigh length patent leather boots! Maggie McCartney was next with just why Birmingham canals are such a great way to get rid of those dead relatives: it’s comparatively only a small fine for dumping. Sheila Belo then kept with the eco theme and why the Amazon is shrinking almost as fast as her ex’s hairline. The evening’s penultimate act was none other than pop Daddy himself, Paul Haworth, who gave us a rendition of what is sure to be a Christmas number 1. Closing the show was the utterly hilarious Carwyn Blayney. Carwyn gave us some of the beauties and ironies of the Welsh language before treating us to some well-penned criticisms of a well known fast food outlet.
So that was Tuesday ate The Star of Kings. Headlining next Tuesday we have the hilarious Charlie Firth and the magical Stuart Turner.
