Performing at G&B

How To Book Spots

Whether you’re new to comedy or a seasoned pro, we’d love to have you come do a spot at G&B Comedy. When performing at a G&B night we do our best to help you find the right night for your style of comedy plus, depending on your performance style and experience, the right spot on the night’s line-up (you don’t want the pressure of being the opening act if you’ve only done a handful of gigs!). We have different lengths of sets ranging from 5 minutes to 7/8 minutes and 10/15 spots to the occasional longer spot and previews, all depending on your needs and experience. We want you to be able to get the most from your stage time so our audience can get the most from your performance.

Promoting You And Getting Your Name Out There

At G&B we want to make sure we do our best to help promote you and get your name out there. Before the show there are also numerous posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram advertising your night’s line-up plus the occasional Instagram posts on the night during the show. One of the most popular promotional tools, however, is the show’s write-up next day. Done by your night’s MC, the write-up is a fun summary of the show in which everyone gets a mention (this isn’t a critique, so nothing bad is said!). This is then posted on the G&B Facebook page and the website’s Show Blog where the acts are tagged and linked back to their Facebook page to further promote them. If you join the G&B Facebook page you can scroll back through 100’s of G&B shows.

How To Get A Spot At G&B

If this is your first time applying to G&B Comedy, just email us at laughter@gab-comedy.com with “Booking G&B” in the subject line and we’ll send you our booking info as well as all the details of the things we’ll need from you like pics, social media etc to get you promoted. Alternatively, you can find everything on the G&B Comedy Facebook page along with our ‘Available Dates’ post. Updated several times a week, the ‘Available Dates’ post is a list of everything from what themed shows are on and where, to what spots are available at what venues over the coming months. A quick check of the ‘Available Dates’ post makes booking spots a piece of cake.

If you’ve performed at G&B before, all you need do is check the ‘Available Dates’ post and email us with two preferred dates for each venue at which you wish to perform. And feel free to apply for more than one venue or themed show. Monday is our admin day, and occasionally a Friday, so if you email on a Tuesday you might have to wait a few days before we get back to you. In which case, please be patient if you don’t hear back straight away.

Cancellation spots: With five shows a week we occasionally find ourselves with cancellation spots. These spots are advertised between midday and 2pm on our Facebook page and can be for spots for that or the next night. So we can find the best place for you on a night’s line-up, we prefer you to have done at least one previous spot at G&B before doing a cancellation spot.
