Sunday, August 10th, Star of Kings

Sonny Savage
It was a jam-packed afternoon at The Star of Kings on Sunday and first to get the crowd laughing was Sobin ST, the absolute unit – his words, that’s an absolute gift to anyone with a sense of style. Next was my eldest son, Kieran Dee, who’s one half of a tonsil double act. It was then over to Jonny Blostone, who’s a bit of a LinkedIn fan…if by fan you mean hates unreservedly. Evan Henley then told us of Slough’s most famous artistic output before Yvonne Alexander introduced us to the power couple of tube announcements. It was then over to Michael Campuzano and the multilingual, multimedia crossover of the name Kevin. Fran Ayala then advanced the cause of equality one missed shave at a time before Declan Evans gave us some tips on how to look harder. Closing the first half was the hilarious Eddie Rojas, aka the goth Bruno Mars. If ever having breakfast with Eddie, just remember that he likes his eggs with traditional, old school cruelty.
After the break, and a little card crotch comedy magic, we got off to a great start thanks to Nick Morey, who confessed to being a slut for cheese. Next was the brilliant Mackenzie Pike and the difference between man’s world and girl’s world: it’s mainly about where each feels comfortable having a pee. Luísa Coelho da Silva was next with her image of Jesus, who’s a big Fleetwood Mac fan. After Luisa was Rory Rawson and the relationship redundancy of finding your Mrs’ vibrator. Paul Steer then assured everyone that teenagers are capable of remembering things…just the wrong things. Jordan Bonner then told us of the joys of IBS and the executive key before Louise Robertson assured us she was not a lassie that liked a drink. Our penultimate act was Rob McAlone, a man who loves little more than a good sit down. And almost anywhere will do. Closing the show, and on great form, was the hilarious Sonny Savage. Sonny offered several bits of sage advice, like never get married by a South London vicar and if contemplating a threesome, check they’re at least identical…really identical.
Well that was a great afternoon at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Sunday we’ve Calvin Smith and Sam Day.
