Phil Green
This has been a great week at G&B and what a fabulous night we had at The Royal George (soho) to finish things off. First to the stage to entertain a packed house was the hilarious Kerry Thompson and what happens if you cast yourself in porcelain. It was then over to Isaac Kean who was once dumped by a malapropism. The brilliant Richard Wheatley was next with an interesting sports’ day at his school for the blind. It was then over to Valerie Steele who has some sweet pet names for her kids: Disappointment and Massive Drain on Resources. After Valerie was Phillip Reiss and a hairline similar to that of one the King’s sons…or his only son, depending on which tabloid you read. It was then the turn of the wonderfully weird Louis Fletcher and why optometrists are naturally upbeat people. Next was Seraj Alijan, an Iraqi comic whom you never want to see bomb. After Seraj was Frances Jane and the first person to die in a train crash. We then had Barbara Fernandez and the joys of easter boyfriends…who only rise once a year. Phil Green (pictured) then had us wondering if the Bradleys will ever cotton on to who is sending them the Christmas catch up letters. Closing the first half was the hilarious Christopher Ford. Chris let us in on something he’s been questioning: is he the fun uncle, or just that guy you heard about in the park?
After the break we got off to a green start thanks to Felix Parkin. Felix is from Telford, which is what would happen if JD Sports made towns. Declan Evans was ext with news that his mum may have got her term dates just a wee bit off. The pun packed comedy of James Loveless was next and just what has the baby agreed to with those “baby on board” badges? It was then over to Marco Chiu who reckons he’s past his prime at 32. His prime was at 12, apparently. After Marco was the fabulously funny Lucy Clark who’s an unashamed Cilla Black fan. Ben Sword then confessed that comedy has given him an odd relationship with daily chores before Adam B just couldn’t get rid of some cards, no matter how many time he threw them away. The evening’s penultimate act was Charlie Firth. Charlie had a bit of a will dispute recently, but The Pope sorted it, so the fishing rod’s in the right hands now. Closing the show was Paul Little. Paul has started seeing a lady of the night recently, but she keeps telling him the proper job title is astronomer.
So that was another great night at The Royal George. Headlining next Thursday we’ve Jack Spoole and Ro Dodgson.
