December 1st at The Star of Kings was a great night of comedy kicking off the Christmas season. First to the stage was the hilarious Lee VG and why Nando’s deliver, narcissists never change and some fish have gigantic horns. Next was Mark Vincent and the mystery of the well inserted kipper. It was then over to Shreya Vaidyanathan and how to get clapped back to normality. After Shreya was Sam Gray and the simplicity of gambling ads. We then had Tony Matthews, aka the Dalai Lama’s body double. Hot on Tony’s heels was Franki Stone and the problem with ignoring the wild boar problem. Our next act was all the way from across The pond, the hilarious Karan Mehra, a man who just can’t get why the word minimalistic needs to be so long. Closing the first half was Tony Carr and everything from Junior Bakeoff to adult ping pong and the joys of the Chinese alphabet.
After the break, and a little body language reading magic, we got off to a cracking start thanks to Phil Green and some great skincare tips: don’t have kids! After Phil was Erik Olsen, a man who reckons he’s long overdue a cyber rose. Next was Evan Henley, a man who presents as arithmetically proficient. It was then over to Patrick Merritt’s (pictured) musical hilarity and some Netflix drama. Sam Day then explained why you shouldn’t feed dog’s chicken jalfrezi before Elena Cotton told the young un’s when there’s no point in putting money away for your pension. Closing the show was Charlie Firth, a man whom, according to his parents, must be a top shagger…and the man to speak to if you want some nice second hand shoes.
So that was our Monday show at The Star of Kings. Next Monday is G&B’s Christmas Fundraiser in aid of Dogs Trust.
