It was another jam-packed night at Royal George Charing Cross Road on Thursday, Kicking off the comedy was the hilarious Rosie G and the serious nature of ball girls. It was then over to Marc Cohen and how to totally run your kids’ lives by posting your comedy online. Next was Robert Idel, who had a bit of a challenge due to his parents being in the audience, but he rose to the occasion and gave some great dating advice for comics. We then had Rowdy Bear (aka Paul Mackman) and a Ye Ha! all the way from Texas with some cowboy yoga and spiritual healing. Richa Ahuja was next with just why she struggles to keep to time. After Richa was Steve Hawthorne and those sexy crane erections we see all across the London skyline. Tony Carr then told us where his kids want him to go on his next birthday: Dignitas. We then had a fabulous and unexpected addition to the show in the shape of Lee VG and the disappointing aesthetic of his given spirit animal: the blue eagle from The Muppets. Closing the first half was the hilarious Godfrey Mercado, who endured a childhood of finger flicking discipline and slipper abuse, which is making him wonder if parenting is for him. That said, he’d beat them every time at hide and seek.
After the break, and a quick bit of magic, we got off to a great start thanks to the wonderful songbird that is Barbara Fernandez, who told us some tales of her experiences of being a Parisienne…at least for the passport. Ben Ferrey then told us of his upcoming book about the Royal in the style of Dostoyevsky: Crime and No Punishment. Next was Charlotte Imbert and just why French is also a sexual orientation, if you need to smoke during sex. It was then over to Winsie Chen, who code red’s the big boobed women in the room – Barbara registered as a major threat! After Winsie was Jonathan Laury. Yes, that Jonathan Laury from Purity of Decadence. Next was Byron Howells, whom despite the name isn’t from a country pile…and has an antipodean accent. Our penultimate act was the fabulous Marco Del Valle, whose accent will tell you he’s…a slut. Closing the show was the brilliant Jonny Brace (pictured), who’s into musical theatre and had a life-changing experience upon watching Cats, a pet Americans won’t have vaccinated in case they catch autism, apparently.
