Kicking off the night at The Bell on Wednesday was the hilarious Charlotte Imbert and a tale of potential lost property we’ll never forget. Next was Pyjama Man (aka Will Pease) and the human wak-a-mole game. Tóki Sørinarson then told us about his dodgy heart condition that means he does everything kinda half hearted. After Toki was Dan Brookes, a man who now has a lack Southerner accent…according to his mates. Tony Carr was next with a new take on what constitutes a hot date before Stephen Tait had us reminisce about the joys of Cilla’s Blind date. Paddy G then got all frisky and horny for a double baked potato. Closing the first half was out very own musical marvel, the fabulous Barbara Fernandez. Barbara took us on a journey through her jobs, dicks and disasters.
After the break, and a bit of magic from a very new magician, we got off to a cracking start thanks to Nick Bain and the joys of the Parisien/Aldgate bar staff. It was then over to Will Hatfield and why comedy is very like sex, and sometimes it lasts five minutes. Az Khan then gave the evening the biggest plot twist before Marc Meakin told him why he’s now half the man he once was and the better for it. It was then over to Alan more or less (aka Aaron Barschak – pictured) and a set that truly defies any attempt I could make at description…seriously. James Lockhart then confessed to being a shameful Glaswegian: doesn’t drink and has never had a deep fried Mars Bar. Our penultimate act was Nick James, a recent graduate of the how to avoid being gaslit course. Closing the show was the utterly hilarious Indi Madray. Indi floored the audience with her superpower to remain unflappable under the most stressful and unusual of circumstances.
