Monday night at The Star of Kings arrived with warm weather and good vibes.
Opening the show was Fred Bell who’s recently been named one to watch. Next was Prakash Mistry, revcealing he’d recently been sacked as a midwife. After Prakash was Dylan Almeida, dealing with the trials of having a thoroughly unserious dad. Tony Carr then explained why it took him a while to start doing comedy, largely because he didn’t want people laughing at him.
It was then over to Paul Rowinski, navigating the challenges of a three-way conversation with his inner monologue. Gavin Webb followed with the unfortunate tale of being scammed out of £10k. Next was Ajay, explaining exactly why people are allowed to laugh at his jokes, before Aarian Mehrabani explored just how expensive it can be to be blind. Closing the first half was Mark Nicholas, reminding us of the importance of knowing your prime numbers.

After the break Eoghan Collins, discovered he wasn’t the only Irish person in the room. Next was Sam Garnett, who never wants to be full named in the paper. Tony Matthews then appeared in a way that had many of us wondering if we’d just seen the Dalai Lama’s body double. After Tony was Mark Kendrick Johnson, who revealed he’s 99% Irish. Next was Julia Holden (pictured), who told us she’s recently met a lot of clowns. Karun Sandal then shared that he already knows what his wife will look like when they’re older. After Karun was Janet Lynn, whose obsession with her favourite movie adaptation shows no signs of fading. Closing the show was Matthew Mj Hunter, explaining exactly what he brings to a threesome.
And that was our night, we’ll be back at the Star on Sunday with the wonderful Andy Brittain & Johnny Murph headlining the show.
