It was another fun Thursday night at The Royal George this week. First to the mic was Jim Hooker, Chantelle’s PR man…well, she’s really busy. Jimmy Pringle was next with the TV show where everyone enjoys an attractive knee before Alan Byrne confessed he’s nothing against vegans but can’t be doing with the selective psycho that are pescatarians. It was then over to Nathan Good and just why it’s not safe to talk about his ex…or even think too loudly! After Nathan was Steve Garry who’s workalike has seen it’s tough days. He once had to edit a sweaty Dame Judy. Prakash Mistry was next with the unacceptable colonisation of the curry before Will Earle told us his You Tube followers grow in inverse proportion to his sex life. Pablo (aka Stingo) was next with the franchising of religion. After Stingo we had Max Norman (pictured), the not so best, best man and his hilarious best man’s speech. Closing the first half was Frances Jane and some fun facts, misdirections and mummy dye.
After the break, and a little Halloween season magic, we got off to a cracking start thanks to Ro Dodgson. Ro has struggled with a deeply unfair aspect of their disability. They can’t waltz. Tom Bridge then told us how he’s worried about his performance review at work…and he’s self-employed. It was then over to Jack Scullion who reckons he’s an original member of JLS… Just how long ago was JLS? Hot on Jack’s heels was Raj Kukadia and the difference between an airport loo and a Ryan Air lounge. Very little it seems. It was then over to Ryan Connor. Some nights Ryan brings the house down. Other nights he just leaves it where it is. Saba Nowroozi was next with a confession she’s not a great Persian as she’s too fond of using cutlery. Ollie Taylor was the evening’s penultimate act. Ollie explained how not to get killed by a bear, or a praying mantis. Closing the show was Jack Spoole and how striking has been a more stressful pursuit than expected. Also, when did councils start putting people in cages?
So that was Thursday at The Royal George (soho). Headlining next Thursday we have Barbara Fernandez and the return of Donal Vaughan. Your MC will be Callum Mackenzie.
