Suzi Wild
It was a really fun show at Arch1 on Wednesday. First to the stage was the fabulously funny Onojie Idemudia who was enthusiastically fed as a kid to avoid being in any TV adverts. Next was Richie Roberts. Richie is almost dad of the year. He got 5% deducted for bringing the wrong kid home from school. Only once, though! It was then over to the musical duo of Rubynia Reubens and Nicky Vere-Compton who gave us little wanna be like you… Fred Bell then wondered if he was actually named after the funniest part of the penis before Barbara Fernandez gave us some more musical ditties and the place they don’t go. It was then over to Mj Hunter, the UK’s #1 pigeon impersonator. Mr Corporate, Phillip Cornwall, then gave us a run through of the corporate game: Does he Know His Stuff, or Is It Just Bluff? Next was Phil Blackmore who is campaigning for there to be a national Shag A Ginger Day. Not before time. Mark Moloney then asked if we’d ever been hit by a car whilst on a portaloo. No? Well just be grateful you don’t have that in common with him. It was then over to Calvin Smith who recently discovered the Samaritans can be aggressive hecklers if you go over time. Closing the first half was Gary Walsh. Gary’s going through a bit of a tough time right now, which could be made a little easier if just once there was someone much younger in the same boat.
After the break we got off to a great start thanks to Jim Hooker. Left wing or right wing, Jim doesn’t care. Just keep the hot wings coming! It was then the turn of Ella Fokin whose name choice came down to battle between abandoned father or Putin. Keith Mendes was next with a biology lesson no one will forget…especially the ladies. After Keith was Ollie Taylor who gave us the other side of David Attenborough before the glitzy fabulousness of SJ Wyatt offered some great advice for heterosexual weddings. Ciaran Millmore then explained it was all about opposable thumbs and notions that separated us from the animals. Mac O’Donnell was hot on Ciaran’s heels with news of the new hat he got himself. And it was strangely full of change. The evening’s penultimate act was the hilarious Dave Bermondsey (aka Seam Anderson). Dave comes from a long line of working class Daves, right back to his great Nan, Dave. Closing the show was the brilliant Suzi Wild (pictured). Last time many of you might have seen Suzi was when she was in the finals of Britain’s Got Talent and last night the crowd at Arch One got to see a few of her new impressions from Fiona bruce to Dianne Abbot, plus some of Simon Cowell’s favourites like Lorraine Kelly. Great stuff.
