Tuesday, December 9th at The Bell was a really fun night. First to the stage was Dylan Almeida and the stag do to remember, so long as you have enough space on your hard drive. We then had Chiff Powell, Daniel Craig’s body double…if he’d let himself go. Talking of body doubles, Gareth Beavis then confessed he was the Samantha from Sex and The City of his friends group before the all singing, all dancing Tony Matthews gave us another Popeye impression. Next was Sonny Savage (pictured), a man who is definitely young enough to eat in Nando’s. Closing the first half was Eoghan Collins and why you should never trust an English dentist.
After the break, and a little magic where Chiff was my magician’s assistant, we got off to a great start thanks to Charlie Firth, a man who knows his way around the full cultural use of the word “marvellous”. After Charlie was Sam Gray, who told us just why Andy Windsor should be ok about 2026. Next was a new face to G&B, David Carlin, with just why he loves himself some hot cow drink. After David was Gene Watson, a man whose pronouns are “was” and who identifies as old. Our penultimate act was the musical fabulousness of Barbara Fernandez and a little Christmas song for all the family…if your family is proper dysfunctional. Closing the show was the hilarious Pete Kinsella with some great advice on what is ok and not ok to read in public and just why his dog might be a little bit racist.
