It was a fabulously busy night at The Royal George (soho) on Thursday and kicking off the comedy we had James Sutton. James told us the team above him at work are making a nude calendar. It’ll be fun when they find out. It was then over to Mark Vincent who’s semi-retired – he basically just can’t get it up these days. After Mark was Laura Gómez and ghosts, sexy pottery and topless firemen. Marcus Keil was next with the shocking news that all we know of Oklahoma is false. Yes, surreys do not all come with a fringe on top! It was then over to Dave Moss who informed us that the ageing process starts from the feet up. Next was Tristan Wolfe, whose dad used to take him to football to try straighten him up. Well that was a waste of a season ticket. Sam Diplock then confessed that as a kid he suffered the Sun Tsu torments of junior school due to his name’s easy target. It was then the turn of Eli Hart who had us wondering if a well is built badly, does it deserve its moniker? Closing the first half was the hilarious Ali Shahrukhi. Ali recently got his nephew a Colin the Caterpillar birthday cake, but he reckons it was out of date as all that was inside was a butterfly.
After the break we got off to a cracking start thanks to Harun Musho’d and the slapstick joy that can be found in Matt Hancock’s Pandemic Diaries. It was then over to Lorcan Jeffreys (pictured) who told us that music therapy has been used to treat narcissists, but it just ended up do-re-mi me, me. It was then over to Stephen AK, a man who likes a yam and a good pounding before David Robinson told us his secret for losing weight: lots of walking, and not just to the fridge. We then had Phillip Reiss and some great impressions…of stamps and coins. After Phil was Lauren E-b who worries Google maps might be trying to kill her. Closing the show was the brilliant Sue-the-Cleaner (aka Liam Harney) and Julie (aka Rhyan Orrick). Sue offered the crowd the chance to get on the ground floor of an incredible business opportunity before Deborah Meaden snaps it up. You heard it here first, so don’t blame us if you miss out on Mr Cakey Bakey.
Well that was a really fun night. Headlining next Thursday at The Royal George (soho) we have Richard Woolford.
