G&B’s LGBT Night at The Royal George

LGBT Comedy at The Royal George
Thursday was our LGBT night at Royal George Charing Cross Road. First to the stage was the hilarious Emily McQuade who wants to tray all the “stuff” she didn’t try in the 90’s. We then had a spectacularly camp and fabulous musical set from Barbara Fernandez with some great tips on corpse dating and how to tame a wrecking ball. Next was the frankly brilliant Zach Brookes (pictured), a man who didn’t give a fuck at school…clothed or otherwise. Thomas Clarke then gave some tips on how to be a great Bride’s mate: bring lots of energy and don’t screw the groom. Frances Jane was next with Lesbian Gamers for Charles III before Ruth Stone explained just why she will remain queer as f**k for as long as it takes. We then upped the crazy with a bit of Nicky Vere-Compton, who is part Scots, part English and part flying saucer. Closing the first half we had the fabulously fecund, furiously fertile David Ferguson, the out and proud Madonna gay with the Darth Vader daddy complex.
After the break and a bit of poker face magic, we got off to a cracking start with David Ingram who has recently been permanently furloughed from his…twink status. It was then over to the evening’s diversity hire, Jeroen Bloemhoff, who looks incredibly like that guy at every party who won’t shut up about crypto currency. Mr Fabulous, Tristan Wolfe was next with the confusion that when he was a kid his dream was to be in ABBA when he grew up. Hot on Tristan’s heels was Gracie Battson who might medically and technically be the most bent person on any LGBT line-up. It was then over to Leo Wax with some modern abbreviations from cost-lives to Rushi Dishy. The evening’s penultimate act was Ro Dodgson and the joys of the NHS prescribed vibrator. Closing the show was the towering talent of James Murphy, the man who reckons being gay is easy, being tall, however, has its problems. James continued with some great life hacks and then explained the problem with homophobes and their nettle stung bollocks. Brilliant stuff.
So that was our LGBT night. Headlining next Thursday at The Royal George we have the fabulous Emily McQuade and the brilliant Pete Kinsella.
