Wednesday, October 8th, The Bell

Anna Mawn
It was a packed Wednesday night at The Bell and first to the stage was Tony Carr, who needs to raise £250 for, well, reasons best left unspecified. Next was Gordon MacSween demonstrating the importance of accessible swearing before Barbora Beránková revealed her questionable decision to become a qualified teacher. Freddie Cornwell then shared the perks of being a child of divorce and how his dad made all the mistakes so he didn’t have to. Robbie Gould followed, confessing that his biggest fear is exercise, before Jill Duncan raised a vital ethical question: is it okay to get a pet meerkat? Closing the first half was the incredibly brave Amber Phillips, who explained exactly why Southend once stood in for Kosovo.
After the break the laughter carried on with Franki Cookney Stone, who spotted someone smoking on the tube. Ben Nizan then detailed what you can really get away with on the radio at 4pm before Kyle Adams confessed to getting a better grade in French than in English. Tom Falco arrived armed with an emergency tote bag and treated us to a little mad tap dance before Anna Borup told us why she’s buying up every tin of chickpeas in your local Tesco Express. Anna Mawn (pictured) followed with tales of the wonders of Coventry before the brilliant Chiff Powell closed the night as a strong and tough boy from Hull.
And that was another brilliant Wednesday at The Bell, full of laughs, big energy and a crowd that made it all fly. Same time this week?
