G&B Sunday afternoons at The Star of Kings

Write-up by guest MC Andrew Perkins
It was an action packed, rambunctious night over at G&B Sundays at The Star of Kings! Kicking off the night in style was the wonderful Pat Smith who regaled the audience with tales of his 16-year partnership as a Skint-Romantic. Next was Gracie Battson who’s middle-aged youth wasn’t helped with her AHDH. Emmy Fyles told us to watch out for her friend with the Crocheted BDSM Harness, followed by Andrew Bryant lugging his de-wheeled Bike on stage and warned us of the stench of the Hyper-Hangover! Tony Carr followed with his experiences asking the Nudist Beach to rate Pure Cremations, as Kristian Phillip Hamilton then blew us away with a fabulous attire and a game of Black People Bingo. Seraj Alijan showed off his ripped calves as he talked about stealing our Hobnobs, followed by Jim Hooker espousing the wonders of growing up in Romford and myriad uses of Peanut Butter and pets. Closing the first half the wonderful Jack Spoole got us all to put our hands on our hips for teacher solidarity and reminded us that HE CAN DRIVE A TRAIN – Choo choo!
A surreal start to the second half was conducted by Phil Zimmerman (pictured) as he berated the audience for laughing at the relationship dynamic of his girlfriend Frigid, followed by Joe Casey who talked about his Dad’s prior career as a Byker Grove star! Fred Bell as the Cultural Sensitivity Advisor of the evening vented his frustration with his forebears unwillingness to buy cars from Japan, whilst Stephen Portlock warned us not to give him a glass in-case it might upset the balance of the elemental fabric of reality. When not trapped at the bottom of a well Henning Nilsen gave us an audit of the Uk’s current geopolitical climate followed by Sam the Eagle’s lookalike: Lee VG pining for the day he might be told he looks somewhat human. Closing the show the fabulous Sue the Cleaner (Liam Harney) and Julie! (Rhyan Orrick) talked about her viral sensation ‘5 step guide to clean upholstery’ and attempted to act as matchmaker for her recently widowed ‘friend’. So in conclusion that was Sunday night at the Star of Kings!
Thank you all for being such a great audience for my first MC spot for G&B Comedy! Headlining next Sunday 6th August we have the brilliant Neil Ben and Deadpantastic Louie Mclean!
