Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings, July 27th

It was a seriously fun afternoon at The Star of Kings on Sunday. First to the stage was Chiff Powell, who wanted to know if it’s too late to take up the luge. It was then over to Amber Phillips, whom despite what her ready meals might think is not a chef at The Savoy. Next was Tony Carr and some tips on how to aesthetically gentrify your area. Bianca Boorer then told us about the radical feminist in her family…her dad. Manuel Asali the told us why John Travolta was 100% polyester before Richard Taylor explained why swimming as therapy is best achieved when you actually know how to swim. It was then the turn of Grace Miller, who recently survived a skiing trip with her school’s sixth formers. Titty Detritus, aka Richard Stainbank, was next with his contempt for performance poetry. It was then over to Tony Matthews who gave us some memorable impressions before Larissa Shipton told us just why Head & Shoulders isn’t a replacement for your morning coffee. After Larissa was Elena Cotton who confessed to maybe needing to upgrade to the premium gaydar, just to be on the safe side. Our penultimate act was Rob McAlone, who told us of his most favourite pursuit: sitting down. Closing the first half we had the return of the hilarious Kerry Ann Boyko and the quantum state of nobody’s bloody business.
After the break we had the delight of a preview of Barbara Fernandez’s (pictured) show, Singing Sagging & Shagging. This was both a hilarious and emotional rollercoaster and if you missed this, you can catch her up in Edinburgh from Wednesday.
