Monday night at The Star of Kingss was a fun show. Kicking off the comedy was the fabulous Dipak Patel and why he’s neither a South London nor Shoreditch hipster. It was then ver to Mac O’Donnell (pictured) who might well end up a crime fighting superhero if the comedy thing doesn’t work out. Speaking of superheroes, we then had Andy Brittain and the 5th emergency service: teachers. Roy Michael then told us about his full house of follicular and testicular bounty before Cameron Holder wondered just how he survived being gay. Next was Gabriel Celaya and the joys of being tory coded. After gabby was Michal Jenicek, whom for a brief moment almost offended the British sensibility of queueing. Dylan Almeida then explained why he’ll never be doing a LAN party again…EVER! Hot on Dylan’s heels was Raj Kukadia, aka bossman, the son of Sebastian. Michal Uchal closed the first half with Europe’s family values and the non-binary nature of Hiroshima.
After the break we got off to a great start thanks to the fabulous Barbara Fernandez and a few little bits from her show Singing, Sagging and Shagging (which you can catch at The star of kings on July 27th). Rob McAlone then confessed to a habit that’s one day gonna get him a shag or a criminal record. It was the over to Silkander Zaman, a man who has discovered just how to land himself a guilt shag. It was then the turn of Phil Green who told us all about his greatest childhood achievement. And it’s still unbeaten! Officially. After Phil was Franki Cookney and where to get the best publicity pics done: the Co-op tills. It was then over to Phil Blunt, who reckons he looks good in orange. Tom Manning then told us he can talk shit about Stonehenge in the pursuit of stoic masking. Our penultimate act was the brilliant Charlie Firth, who told us all about the advantages and disadvantages of a weighted blanket. Closing the show was the poetry of Tom Draper, the soon to be poet laureate of TFL…if they ever get over their unreasonable nerves about bomb poetry.
Well that was a fun show. Next Monday at The star of kings is our G&B’s Growing Old Disgracefully Competition.
