G&B’s Dark Delights, Star of Kings

Max Norman
Monday night at The Star of Kings was G&B’s Dark Delights, our eve ing dedicated to comedy’s darker side. Kicking things off was Sam Hampson, a grand master of dark suppression. We then had Max Norman (pictured), and the living 20 denier tights set. After Max was Mark Vincent, the man whom the NHS has identified as a person of interest. It was then over to Dean Helliwell and why you should never do BDSM in a zoo before Eoghan Collins caught us up on how he’s getting on with growing his own balaclava. Tony Carr then gave us some great tips on how to gatecrash a wake. Next was Stanislav Gunko and why Putin never talks to himself: he refuses to negotiate with terrorists. It was then over to Luke McCarthy and why heavyweight champions are a bit like London buses. Nicky G told us he’s very fond of his kids…if you’re into that sorta parenting thing. Closing the first half was Barry Matthews who reckons he’s now a liberal, but he’s battling the evidence.
After the break we got off to a deliciously dark start thanks to Steven Mayne and the true miracle that is his upcoming tenth anniversary. After Steven was the musical Barbara Fernandez and the waterslide that could have been her uterus. Stephen Tait then got the benefit of our recent “consultant” teachings before birthday boy, Neil Davies, explained why the Geneva convention screws up therapy for army vets. Ashley Hogarth then had us wondering just what animal chorizo sausage is.It was then over to Nirali Patel to show the crowd just what dark comedy was about with an interesting bit about the scouts and ULEZ. Tiger was next with why gap years just make white folks more racist. After Tiger was the Princess of Darkness, Amelia Fritz, and why not swallowing is a great way to lose weight. Keeping up with the weight loss theme, Mark Rivlin claimed that very tip was what kept him from dating anorexics back in his day. Closing the show was Andrew Dipple and a deliciously dark end to the evening with a triple whammy of twisted toppers.
So that was our evening of dark comedy. The next G&B’s Dark Delights show will be at The Bell on July 16th. We’re now taking booking and organising therapy.
