Paul Little
Thursdays are our night at The Royal George and kicking things off last night was Steven Mayne, the man who has recently added a titular declaration of extra laughs. It was then over to Charlie Firth who showed the crowd how to guilt trip the crap out of Linkedin users. It was then over to Tony Carr who’s not miserable and that’s nothing to do with not having kids. After Tony was Chiara, who reliably informed us her tan, unlike most of the UK this time of year, is not from Boots. Next was Robin Cousins, a confirmed cat person and lover of whales… No, that’s the right spelling. It was then the turn of Edith Fishta who dates very, very immature men; she loves a good man child challenge. Declan Kennedy was next with the breaking new that Stanley Kubrick staged the D Day landings. Closing the first half was Emily McQuade and some great spooky tales from the Ann Summers haunted toys line.
After the break, and a little arty card magic, we got off to a great start thanks to Cheryl Hurst, who claims you can still phone stalk someone from jail. Zach Mills was next with tips on when not to pay a compliment before Katie Edkins and the twatus mostus condition that all too often goes undiagnosed in some men. After Katie we had Sunil Mashari, a man used to the finer things in life. Sadly so’s his father and it’s eating him up! Archie Keen was next with the big secret that Dungeons & Dragons might not be the fast track to cool. Our penultimate act was Paul Little (pictured), whose tinnitus may or may not have been caused by Gary Barlow. Closing the night was the hilarious Phil Green and how to know when you’re having a breakdown and why never to go to dinner with boomers.
So that was another fun Thursday at The Royal George. Headlining next Thursday we have Calvin Smith and Richard Wheatley with guest MC Mj Hunter.
