Mani Ahmed
It was a great night at The Star of Kings on Monday, what a wonderfully up for it crowd we had. First to the stage was Ollie Taylor who told us that Trump’s failed assassin may have simply failed to properly knock one off that morning. It was then over to Lenny Consolo and the German seated pee. Auz Thompson then gave us the flamingo chat-up technique. After Auz was matt Scott and the perfect recipe for waitress tears. Claire Hutchison was next with just why posh girls love having her as a friend. Paul Irwin then taught us that a broken home is just posh speak for a loft conversion. The sartorially gifted Mark Vincent then explained the transubstantiation effect of how he gained some property. Hot on Mark’s heels was Eytan Bayme who gave us some truly inspired ideas on how to create our own phonetic alphabet. Closing the first half was the hilarious Charlie Firth. Charlie has done his best for gender equality, but he’s just crap at football slogans.
Kicking off the second half was the brilliant Mj Hunter who confessed he might just not be smart enough watch porn. Thomas Jones then told us why chess club might be racier than you think. It was then over to Deniro B Stockswho has a skin care regime that looks a bit gay, but a wardrobe that says 100% straight. It was then the turn of another antipodean, Grace Gooda, who reckons it’s about time to ban run clubs. After Grace was Katerina Nasto who laid bare the truth about men’s ability to multitask. The fabulous Nasif Akhtarwas next, wondering just where all the white people are in London. After Nasif was Mani Ahmed (pictured) whose mum reckons he’s the Poundland of singledom. The evening’s penultimate act was Jack Gregson, a true playboy: he’s been to the theatre in at least three countries! Closing the show was the wonderful Mr Corporate himself, Phillip Cornwall, everyone’s favourite inspiration cowboy who can wrangle ideas from the most stubborn of stampeding thought rhinos. Phil has started to look at some buzz phrase rehab tactics. Although, they might not be to his taste.
Well that was last night and what a great show it turned out to be. Next Monday at The Star of Kings we have a truly magical show planned for you. First half has a cracking comedy line-up and then our evening’s second half is a preview of Adam B’s debut Edinburgh show, Welcome to My Reality.
