Monday, March 23rd, Star of Kings

Prakash Mistry
We had a fun night at The Star of Kings yesterday, starting with Rosie G who gave us Neanderthal realness, with Etta James and all. Next up was Tony Carr – Tony’s biggest problem with old fashioned dick pics was getting them developed at the shop. He’s had letters ever since. We then had Prakash Mistry (pictured) who really appreciated his warm welcome from the audience, as it will do wonders for his visa application. Charlie Firth was next – and no it wasn’t Colin Firth, despite what some MCs say. Charlie had the pleasure of having some enthusiastic audience participation, which he handled beautifully. Sofia Cano shared her most recent transformation – from a US Mexican to a UK white girl – at least, as far as Essex is concerned. Closing the first half was the wonderful Chiff Powell who hails from Hull where, in the good ol’ 80s, the job opportunities were plentiful. You could be a thief…or a thief. Now, though, his friends call him Batman – well, almost. VAT man is close enough.
Our second half opened with Calvin Smith. At least, that’s his most recent name. He keeps renaming himself so that he can enjoy not one but 4 driving licenses. Eve Simpson shared her biggest issue with being half Jamaican: her DNA is both slave and master. We then had Marc Cohen. Marc keeps getting offered all kinds of drugs except the ones he wants – beta blockers. Alistair Nicol next demonstrated his old profession of drama teacher, which he says is a bit like an STD – you never think it can happen to you. Closing the show was the fabulous Mark Vincent. Mark cautions against looking up your family tree, cause if you’re anything like him, you’ll just get bird poo in your eye. He does have an impressive heritage though, as his mum looked just like the late Queen – the family felt well honored to look upon her, as did she when she looked in the mirror, though everyone was confused when the real Queen died.
So that was our show! Join us next Monday March 30th at The Star of Kings with G&B fave, the hilarious Matthew Mj Hunter and the fabulously funny Nigel Wolfin.
