It was another fun night at Royal George Charing Cross Road on Thursday. Our MC for the evening was the fabulous Martina O’Sullivan who kicked things off by bringing the hilarious Steve Hawthorne and just how you christen every room in a new home. It was then over to Chris Cowan and some 18+ hymns for hims. Shahbaaz Mahboubi was next and counteracted Chris’ Christianity with a quick Islamic conversion of the room before Sam Primarolo told us of his deep fear of seeing Starmer’s dick pics. We then had Charlotte Imbert and the toilet door energy every friend group needs. It was then the turn of Sam Prynn and the tiny magic wand that turned her gay. Closing the first half was the utterly puntastic Mark Rivlin and everything from menthol health to King Kong and Godzilla and Robbie Williams to nights at the opera.
The second half Martina returned and introduced me to do some magic before she then introduced the hilarious Stanislav Gunko, who told us he’s a really bad cook and can’t do some of even the most basic Russian dishes, like Novichok. Next was Taylor Perry and why he’s not keen on sex after a big meal. We then had the evening’s keynote speaker, Lottie Grogan (pictured), who took us through the basics of just how comedy really works. It was then over to Rowdy Bear (aka Paul Mackman) and the spiritual healing part of the evening and a bit of Willie Nelson. The fabulous Lea Pateman was next with just how much she loves kids and the joy of being a parent…she barely unclenched her teeth once! Our penultimate act was Alex Groves who admits to being disgustingly middle class. Closing the show was the frenetic fabulousness of Gareth Beavis, the evening’s most handsome man, according to his intro rider. We were ok with it because he’s K-Pop demon troubled, it seems.
