Sunday afternoon, September 13th, Royal George (Soho)

Georgia Thorp
It was a wonderfully busy and buzzing afternoon at Royal George Charing Cross Road on Sunday fabulously kicked off by the hilarious Mj Hunter and why it’s best not to talk to men at strip clubs. It was then over to Georgia Thorp (pictured), who recently moved for easy access to drop kerbs. After Georgia was Andrew Conway and how he started in comedy via nominative determinism. It was then over to Kym Nelson, who really isn’t a Beatles fan. It was then over to Lee VG, aka The Eagle, a man who back in the day was popular at school, honest. We then had Lucca Costa, who got some very strange things from our Everything But The Gags workshop prior to the show. Hot on Lucca’s heels was Rhys Jose, who’s not a big fan of private education…or microphones! Closing the first half was the brilliant Indi Madray, who gave us some great mental health advice and tips on why you should Neve trust a Groupon deal.
Kicking off the second half was the wonderful weirdness of Will Usherwood-Bliss, the weightlifting owner. We then had Ollie Marchant and some punchy people pleasing. After Ollie was Sean Carey, who has an interesting bit about Irish funerals. What is it with the Irish and funerals!? Tony Matthews then explained just why he hates people who say they don’t see colour; he can see most of them even with his cataracts. It was then the turn of Akshar Patel. Whatever you do, don’t get him going on TFL announcements. He’s really not a fan. We then had Jonny Garvin, a middle aged white man, so qualified to speak with authority on any given subject before Valerie Steele gave some dating advice for the more mature singles in the room: don’t bother! Closing the show was the utterly hilarious Calvin Smith, who is not named after America’s worst ever president (insert political education or bias). He then told us just how to bring your family closer together, one line at a time.
