Thursday, July 4th, The Royal George (Soho)

MJ Hunter
Thursday at The Royal George was another really fun night. Our guest MC was Mj Hunter (pictured), who did an absolutely stellar job. First to the stage was Declan Evans who’s a true exponent of equality…in a well dodgy way. It was then over to Kyriakos Vlachos whom, after teaching UK kids, thinks he should be sent back to his own country. Dipak Patel then gave us an insight into when Kent might not be the best place to have audiences chant his name. We then had the utterly puntastic Mark Rivlin, who didn’t even make the shortlist to play a dwarf in panto. After Mark was Jacob Tidmarsh, a man with apparently impressive nipples, but chicken nugget legs. It was then over to Kevan Hall and the Dagenham/Dubai conundrum before Mac O’Donnell gave some tips on how not to be a better person. Closing the first half was Eoghan Collins. Being an actor, Eoghan gave us an insight on the don’t work with kids and animals trope and what other sector of the entertainment business that should apply to.
After the break we got treated to a snippet or two of Barbara Fernandez’ upcoming fringe show, Singing, Sagging and Shagging. And if you want more, and why wouldn’t you, you can see the full show on Monday night at The Star of Kings. It was then over to Roy Michael and news of his upcoming new book for which Amazon will be creating a completely new category. Cameron Holder then filled the T on Grindr before Mani Ahmed cleared up any issues with the concept of assisted marriage arrangements. Our penultimate act was Archie Keen who explained just why eating knives will soon be a thing. Closing the show was Alan Jay Byrne and everything from Lord of The Rings elves and Irish Leprechauns to that noble race of diabetics.
Well that was a fun night. Headlining next week we have Charlie Firth & Phillip Cornwall.
