It was a fun night at The Bell on Tuesday. First to the stage to get them laughing was Martina O’Sullivan who was handing out Jesus’ nipples and other holy body parts. Next was the fabulously funny Tom Draper and why the very hungry caterpillar truly damaged his adult diet. It was then over to Gabriel Celaya, who might be at risk in his job if they ever find out he has his ass whuped at Monolpoly by a six year old. After Gabi was Jay Middleton, a man from a long line of picklers. Dan Grennan then had the epiphany that he loves sex so much because it’s free…at the moment. After Dan was Derrick Yeo, the live action stunt double for the kid in the movie Up. Sikandar Zaman was next with why he loves a lady with a need to exorcise white guilt. We then had Rich Bunn and the voice that can stop any argument…with a restful sleep. Closing the first half was the fabulous Amber Phillips, a lady from the English seaside fresort of Kosovo.
After the break we got off to a cracking start thanks to Eoghan Collins and the soothing sound that sends the irish off to sleep. Gil Givens was next with the scientific worth of bodily fluids. Matt Scott was next with why not showing up on echo location can be problematic. After Matt was Cameron Holder, the wood loving, lesbioan lumberjack look-a-like. It was then over to Lucy Davies, who may have recently suffered from a metaphor hit and run. After Lucy was Ameesh Patel and why germans shouldn’t be anaesthetists. The evening’s penultimate act was the hilarious Dov Citron, a man with a milliner’s soul and stylish sensibilities. Closing the show was the utterly puntastic Mark Rivlin, the man who recently won our Growing Old Disgracefully competition. From Swedish couriers to Abba and Robbie Williams to menthol health problems, Mark had the crowd in stitches.
So that was Tuesday night at The Bell. Headlining next Tuesday we have Callum Mackenzie and Martina O’Sullivan.
