Wednesday, November 1st, Arch One

Karan Mehra
It was a really fun, buzzing night at Arch1 Wednesday. First to the mic was Cuthbert Lambert and the school cat tray conundrum. It was then over to Gary Walsh and why you never see a crackhead with a vape. Mj Hunter wondered if it’s normal to cry post orgasm…no. After MJ we had Adam B and why you really shouldn’t believe your eyes with a magician. Ryan Ward was next with Goebbels’ hurdles in poetry before Mr Corporate, Phillip Cornwall, hit us with a well stir fried set from the comedy thought wok. Closing the first half we had Isaac Kean and the Anglo American translation system, plus why he ended up in the US in the first place: romance, or lack thereof.
After the break we had a little bit of mind reading magic before Amber Phillips put a very definite price on sibling love. After Amber was Jack Scullion and why the JLS condoms are rubbish: they split!!!! It was then over to Josh Mason and an incredible first gig with the tale of the awkward reach-around. Marciano was next with the darker side of Halloween…and we don’t mean the witches, demons and Gates of Hell stuff. Hot on Ben’s heels was Karan Mehra (pictured), who was recently diagnosed with late stage 30’s…but he’s doing ok. Babetta Mann was the evening’s penultimate act. Babetta’s husband thinks she’s a great listener. Just don’t tell him what we know. Closing the show was the hilarious Brooke Hoerr. Brooke is from the U.S. flyover States, aka the middle of the middle. He lived in Chicago for a while before moving to Croydon, for a more quint, laid back street violence.
So that was another great night at Arch One. We’re back at The arch on December 6th when your headliners will be Phillip Cornwall and Paul Merryck.
