Wednesday at The Bell had some great comedy all kicked off by the hilarious musical mirth of Jonny Brace and just who really planned 9/11… It was Peppa Pig! Oscar Farrimond then told us why his career as a movie writer might not take off before Ian Colyer told us why we can’t have a more exotic way to name our streets. The fabulous Aarian Mehrabani was next with the glorious hissy fit deserving of a competition win. Closing the first half was the wonderful Evan Henley. Evan went to a very prestigious university, but please don’t tell too many people, as he’s so very modest and prefers people to tell others about it with its correct sense of awe.
After the break, and a bit of Rubik’s cube magic that saved my sanity thanks to a very smart couple in the audience, we got off to a great start thanks to Alex Farrell and how to play The Voice at home. It was then over to Henry Small, a man who makes a bit of a living selling women’s clothes…so long as she doesn’t start noticing her wardrobe’s shrinking. We then had Alexander Putilin, a man who backed up Johnny Brace’s claim that Peppa Pig was a war criminal. Our penultimate act was the fabulously funny MJ West, who told us a Mary Poppins tale that even Disney couldn’t make family friendly. Closing the show was the brilliant Stanislav Gunko (pictured), who explained why he tempers his accent and wishes Russian mindfulness podcasts did the same.
