Sunday afternoon, September 24th, Star of Kings

Jamie McDonald
Sunday afternoons, as always at The Star of Kings, was a fun way to spend the day. First to the stage was Felix Parkin, who told of the miracle that is getting his mother through customs. Neil Ben then explained why a few inches makes all the difference, especially for goblins. Jack Spoole then told us of having lost 3 stone, but it was never about the weight, just the…well, if you want to know go see him perform. Stephen Portlock then told us why you should never be frugal with hand sanitiser before Brooke Hoerr gave us everything from Weiner buns to tea bags and the joy of heated towel rails. Hot on Brooke’s heels was Steven Mayne and why his hero is his daughter. Just beware if she tells you to frog off. Mark Vincent then explained why LMAO becomes a different thing altogether with age. Closing the first half was the wonderful Emily McQuade. Emily, who was sporting a lot she described as Crouching Mama Hidden Mia, let us in on a few little bits she keeps in her erotic building society (that’s the Waitrose shopper’s equivalent of a wank bank).
After the break and a bit of arty mind reading we got off to a musical start thanks to Jamie McDonald (pictured). Jamie hit us with some homo sapien ditties and grave stone desecrations. Desmond Craddock then confessed he doesn’t believe in unconditional love…then illustrated just why. Akachi was next with the pain of being ghosted and a new understanding of ‘those’ pics. It was then over to Sinead Parker who is eagerly on the hunt for a quick fix of dopamine before Michaela Tremlett gave a much needed break down of the do’s and don’t of the modern sex party. You’ll all thank her one day. Gen Singer then exposed the capitalist tyranny of the salt and pepper shaker before Dan Hudson hit us with some Brummy gags. Closing the show was the hilarious Kim Hope. Kim loves being in the UK and enjoys our many cultural idiosyncrasyies. Stuff like our stealth rudeness, which she’s enjoyed so, so many times.
Sp that was Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Sunday we have the master of ASMR, the one and only Yogie Belle (aka Michael Yanny).
