We had a cracker of a show at The Star of Kings Sunday afternoon, all kicked off by Ella Clark who has some interesting theories on the racist nature of the Rubik’s Cube. After Ella was Robert Idel (pictured) and his days as a horny drag queen, Massive Merkl. It was then over to El Dente (aka Alastair Sadler) and the impedimented ode to Achilles. It was then over to Nina and why being an optimist is unusual, being an optimist. After Nina we had James Streeter, who’s a big fan of James Cordon. Mel Dram then told us why she can’t be beaten at mixed race top trumps. Hop on Mel’s heels was Steve Hawthorne who had us wondering just what flavour Greggs edible underwear might be. The musical Barbara Fernandez then got us going with some American psycho action. Closing the show was the hilarious Tracey Bowman with the banging big end, the loosened nuts and the Hayes guide to great sex.
After the break we got off to a great start thanks to Calvin Smith, who is to under any circumstances a Callum, but is on track to being one of the more famous Calvins, above Snoop Dog. It was then over to Iftee Hussain and the game of charades that was the early years of his English pronunciations. After Iftee we had MJ, and just how he got into accidentally dating Claudia Winkleman. Next was Sophie Stemmons and how to create the superjew, Marvel’s next unpopular superhero before Jamie Huffmaster gave us a little tip on how to get your trainers for free at FootLocker. Amber Phillips then let us in on a little translation issue with the French non-equivalent of the hand-job. Our penultimate act was the hilarious Evan Henley, who went to a very prestigious university…and the “very” is important! Closing the first half was the brilliant Tom Draper and the joys and traumas of World Book Day in the child museum world.
