Tuesday, November 7th, Star of Kings

Pete Kinsella
It was a really fun night at The Star of Kings on Tuesday. The first act to the stage was Adam B who had an amazing bit of magic that got a hooray from the idiot-boardometer. Next was Mr Corporate, Phillip Cornwall, who handed out the metaphorical red pills so the crowd could release their inner thought rhinos. It was then the turn of Barbara Fernandez and why Zoom faces have a slightly psychotic vibe. After Barbara we had Ryan Ward and his dirty little Dicky who loves a choccy biccy. Mark my words, one day Ryan will either have his own Netfiex series…or nationwide manhunt. Next was Rowan Groom who recently discovered he’s possibly South African with a hint of Mexican. It was then over the the musical Jamie McDonald and his aversion to naked flatmates. Closing the first half was the hilarious Mark Vincent. Mark is incredibly proud of his impressive prostate which has to date ended the careers of several prominent doctors.
After the break and me almost breaking my ankle – plus a bit of clearly cursed voodoo – we got off to a great start thanks to Marc Salmon and when it’s best to accept the fine and not the register. It was then over to Sarah Rowan who has been vegan for six years and has been dedicated and consistent to this…at least to lying about it, anyway. Next was Josh Mason and the world’s worst ever game of pin the tail on the donkey before Stingo gave us a glimpse into the witless protection system. The fabulous Emmy Fyles was hot on Stingo’s heels with some great dating tips, like never date a man with only one pillow. We then had Felix Orlo, who from the back of a spoon is indistinguishable from Helena Bonham Carter. The truly puntastic James Loveless was the evening’s penultimate act with everything from superheroes and human 2.0 to turtle strangling. It was then over the the brilliant Pete Kinsella (pictured) to close the show as only he could with dodgy dogs, immigrant rabbits and Tory myxomatosis. Brilliant stuff.
So that was a fun Tuesday night at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Tuesday we have Neil Ben and Sue-the-Cleaner (aka Liam Harney).
