Magic from Stuart Turner
We had an amazing night at The Star of Kings on Monday and Tuesday’s show turned out to be another absolute cracker. Opening the show we had Ben Roberts, who reminded us that The Milky bars are on “Me”…you, well, him, as it turned out, but you know what I mean. It was then over to Marc Salmon who is addicted to his phone, but allergic to being mugged for it. It was then over to the one-liner wonder that is Ali Shahrukhi, who’s not paranoid, but reckons everyone thinks he is. Next was Moss (aka James Watkins). Huzzah! Moss brought back a classic of comedy, the whoopee cushion. We then had the fabulous SJ Wyatt, who’s a bit of a dab hand at making a Cyberman at very short notice. After SJ was Barbora Beránková and why she prefers men who shower before bed. Seraj Alijan then explained that it’s not praying he has an issue with, it’s the enforced burpees! Closing the first half was MR Corporate, the hilarious Phillip Cornwall. Phil works hard at the Solution Factory where working outside the dodecahedron is commonplace and stir frying in the thought wok is what it’s all about.
After the break we got off to a great start thanks to Alan Byrne, who has no issue with vegans, but he’d happily barbecue a pescatarian. Declan Evans was next with news that his grandad was a bit of a war hero… Just don’t ask for which side. It was then over to Jack Scullion and the poetry of comedy via the artful beer mat. After Jack we had Aaron Bossey, whom, according to a recent casual racist, comes from Marks & Spencers. The evening’s penultimate act was Emmy Fyles. Emmy was going to splash out on a new shower cap recently, but decided to go for something more “practical” instead. Closing the show was the simply brilliant, utterly magical Stuart Turner (pictured). There are few acts who can blend together comedy and magic so perfectly, and Stu is an absolute master of the mix. And who else can bring you a horse on stage to close their act!
Well that was another awesome night at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Tuesday we have Emmy Fyles and Carwyn Blayney.
