Alex Farrell
Monday night we were at Royal George Charing Cross Road and launching the laughs was the wonderfully funny Alex Farrell (pictured) and his take on how to get by at a funeral reception. It was then over to Sophie Stemmons who told us about her nan, who turns out to be a bit of a player. Tash Pickard then told us all about her kiwi picking with her Kiwi boyfriend. After Tash was Tony Matthews, a man with a cornucopia of comedy impressions. Next was Evan Henley, a man who doesn’t just look like he knows his way round a spread sheet: he really does! Closing the first half was the sumptuous silliness of Sam Day, a musical, sectionable, vegan from Norwich in his 400th gig!
The second half got off to a magical start and a Houdini vanishing ring, before Saoirse told us all about her brother’s map obsession thanks to Grindr premium. It was then over to David Carrington and the scariest transplant psychology. Valerie Steel then gave some advice to the more mature men in the room on how to best present themselves on dating apps. Our penultimate act was the fabulous Marco Del Valle, the top percentile slapper in Clapham. An impressive stat due to the fact he doesn’t live in Clapham. Closing the show was the magical onslaught that is the hilarious Stuart Turner. Stu gave them a big opener, some mind boggling mind reading and some horsing about.
Next Monday at The Royal George is our New Act Competition. So why not come along and vote for your favourite acts.
