Tuesday at The Bell was a fun night. Kicking things off was the brilliant Eoghan Collins and where you really shouldn’t be called “daddy”. Next was Marigold Lately whom, since the cost of living crisis, has become a big advocate for shoplifting. The legend that is Jimbo was next. Jimbo was wondering if Putin could possibly be such a bad guy when he dresses so well. Tom Draper then let us in on a little dark secret about his Telly Tubby Porn Hub discovery. After Tom was Jat (aka Jay Middleton – pictured) and the tutu and car moon trio. The utterly puntastic Mark Rivlin was next with his usual non-stop barrage of one-liners and puns. He’s a bloody joke machine! Closing the first half was the hilarious Mj Hunter whose girlfriend is real. No, seriously, she is, and she cries passionately on a regular basis.
After the break we got got off to a great start thanks to Declan Evans, who’s been doing gigs at The Bell waaaaaaay longer than you might think. Hot on Declan’s heels was Mark Johnson and the radiation therapy that gives you the perfect figure. Bence Kocsis was next with the news that your good wifi might be due to the fact you home’s haunted. After Bence was Morgan DeVere who refuses to be held to the Taylor Swift standard. The evening’s penultimate act was Damian Krushner who was recently robbed by what he reckons was a fellow addict; he recognised chocolate addiction when he sees it. Closing the show was G&B’s poet laureate, the one and only, simply hilarious Jack Scullion – and stunt double Sam Hampson. In between his glorious recitals, Jack assured us, despite what his wardrobe proclaims, he is not having a breakdown.
So that was Tuesday at The Bell and what a fun show it was. Next Tuesday is G&B’s Dark Delights, our evening dedicated to comedy’s darker side.
