Monday, April 27th, Star of Kings

Sofia Cano
Monday was an absolutely buzzing night at The Star of Kings and kicking off the laughs was the hilarious Rosie G and why even eligible surgeons can give the ick. After Rosie was Andrew Steel, who looks like the ind of man who’d have an Elon Musk calendar above his bed. It was then over to Marco Del Valle, the united nations of chlamydia. We then had the return of Shahbaaz Mahboubi who told us about his to two interests and dedications before Steve Garry had us wondering what chairs would look like if our knees bent the other way. Paul Rowinski then explained why there are so many blin Catholics. Hot on Paul’s heels was the hilarious Ellis Strong and the incredible work he does with the elderly…or rather the work his nan does with him as her “business manager”. Next was Will Usherwood-Bliss, who once again had the crowd in utter stitches and never saying a word. Tony Matthews then showed us what he does at home when he puts on some funky music. It was then over to Callum Martin who recently discovered he could avoid military service on the grounds he doesn’t fit in tanks. Closing the first half was Barbara Fernandez and the trials and tribulations of her awful taste in men, several of them.
After the break I handed the MC duties over to Martina O’Sullivan who brought to the stage her first act, Tom Draper, who read from The Tiger Who Came To Dinner, the Republican version. We then had Tasos Tsolis whose kids are going to be great Greek bitcoin farmers. After Tasos was Jamie Brown and the pain of going through the baby blues…for the father. Taylor Perry then gave us some cracking punnery before Rebecca Minty told us just why facial yoga might not be great for people with anger management issues. The fabulous Sofia Cano (pictured) was next with a tale of how a birthday ended up needing something from the kitchen. It was then over to Herries Anderton, who’s big in crypto comedy..at least he was at 10pm last night. Our penultimate act was Charlotte Imbert, who has gone through a traumatic experience with a CPR dummy. Closing the show was the fabulous Sam Day, a child of divorce from a family of eczema and a master of a comedy sing-a-long.
Well that was an absolute cracker of an evening. We’ve no show at The Star of Kings next Monday as it’s bank holiday, but the Sunday show has the brilliant Eoghan Collins and the fabulous Willow Marler headlining.
