It was an absolute cracker of a show at The Star of Kings Sunday afternoon with a lovely crowd who were so brilliantly up for it. First to the stage was Ollie Taylor and the Durex chart for bears. After Ollie was Jonny Weldon, an act that you can’t insult without equally complimenting his acting ability. We then had Elspeth Reid, someone whose desiring might have been in pest control if it wasn’t for her veganism getting in the way. It was then over to Stephen Portlock then had us ponder the problem with Quakers before Martina O’Sullivan hit us with the 27 degrees of separation with Irish funerals. Keeping with funerals we then had Marcisaaccomedy and why you should always wear gloves at Scottish funerals. After Marc was Nate Patel and what to do and whom to bang when insulted. Closing the first half was the fabulous Rachel Morton-Young (pictured) and why it’s best not to have your bra fitted in the Netherlands.
After the beak we had the hilarious Alex Taylor and how his hot boy summer is growing out one blond tip at a time. Andy Alty then showed us just how being able to laugh at yourself might indeed one day save your life. The afternoon’s penultimate act was Harley William. Harley’s now paying through the nose for a mortgage. Sadly, it’s not his. Closing the show was the magical mayhem of the simply hilarious Stuart Turner. Stuart took us along on a Sherlockian whodunnit of magic and mystery, with an added bit of utter lunacy thrown in.
So that was Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Sunday we’ve Ollie Taylor and Eoghan Collins.
