Sunday afternoon at Royal George Charing Cross Road was a packed, buzzing room. Kicking things off was the hilarious Neil Benson (pictured), a man who does the best jazz hand. After Neil was Owen Stanley, who loves a good funeral buffet to help you forget. It was then over to the multilingual Jenny Jope, who’s fluent in the most useful of the Celtic tongues…if you want to surrender. We then had Alex Green, and when being a pescatarian goes too far. It was then over to Jason Czerwiec and the joys of the man bag. Hot on Jason’s heels was James Streeter, a man who has some interesting Uber Delivery tastes. Next we had the return of Doug Graves, a man who’ll never be allowed to skydive again…unless for a black cab charity. Susan Kitcatt then told us all about working for a certain charity, that she really shouldn’t be doing the phone lines for! Closing the first has was the brilliant Arthur Mitchell, a man who really knows how to make his wife happy…he sleeps in the spare room. He also closed the first half with a little Q&A…in reverse.
Our second half kicked off with the fabulous Steven Mayne and how to tell the difference between a Prince Albert of a Prince Andrew. Next was Kevin Collins, a very aromatic comic…with a bad romance record. Sasha Fuller was next with some couple compatibility tests. After Sasha was Henry Small, a man with a very colourful family, with a fear of wifi and a bad veterinary record. We then had James McKerrell and the joys of the deep philosophy only found at “the afters”. Our penultimate act was Akin Orekoya who is possibly the best ever promotional pitch for the LBGT community. Closing the show was the gloriously bonkers Lottie Grogan, who shared with us some deep wisdom on the comedy world and its “interesting” inhabitants.
