It was a buzzing afternoon at The Star of Kings on Sunday. Kicking things off was Rohan Ashar, a man who can REALLY throw a chair. Next was Kyriakos Vlachos, someone you don’t want ordering soft drinks for you in a Wetherspoons. We then had Auz Thompson, part man, part Amazonian rainforest, all energy. Tracey Bowman then gave us a new word, “Sphincteric”, before Sam O’Connor told us his long haul flight version of Tracey’s new wordage. It was then over to Richard Taylor and a little glimpse of his potential new skillsets. After Richard was Declan Evans, a man who may not have done great at school…which is why he’s a comic. Chris Wilkinson was next with his dragon like characteristics. Well, mainly eczema, but scales count. Nick Morey then informed us that he’d recently had a cold that had him producing more phlegm than the entire Dutch language. After Nick was SJ Wyatt, offspring of a Dalek look-a-like. Marcos Brito then led the audience into a fabulous rap-a-long before Gordon MacSween explained just when FaceTime isn’t FaceTime. Closing the first half was the hilarious Mani Ahmed. Mani’s not keen on football or religion, for mainly the same reason: the fans.
After the break we had a treat with the full Edinburgh Fringe show, Identity Theft, from Mad Ron and Jerry Bakewell, the show where you can win or lose cash, identity and a little bit of self respect (that depends on how much you want £1.84).
