Sunday afternoon, October 11th, Royal George (Soho)

Charlie Lindsay
It was a wonderfully busy and buzzing afternoon of comedy at Royal George Charing Cross Road on Sunday. Alec Watson kicked things off with a reassurance for his parents that London might be a wee bit after than Saudi. It was then over to Stanislav Gunko, who reminisced about his first time in London and its collection of weird, wonderful and diverse people…that he found in the lobby of his hotel. Jason June then told us all about the psychology student in the fedora, and his annoyance on becoming a comedy bit. After Jason was James Streeter, who has a very interesting pornhub/ubereats favourites list. We then had Alex Ashton and why gay second cousins in New Zealand are fair game. It was then over to Charlie Lindsay (pictured), who gave some great advice on how to beat colour blindness. Ian Colyer then told us about the pennyfarthing traffic congestion in Brighton before our first half headliner, Marco Del Valle, showed us just why vintage clothing should be respected…and accessorised!
Our second half got off to a great start thanks to the hilarious Jill Strassler and just how regional sign language is, and just why you should be careful with it. We then had Kerry Thompson, a big name in Swindon tourist promotion. It was then over to Valerie Steele and why you really need to check the small print on any 80’s night. After Valerie was Richard Jeffery and a new definition of “going outside for a fag”. Joe Anderton then explained why JK Rowling became a transphobic hag: black mold! Kushti (aka Lovkush Agarwal) then told us that he’s from that famous Aussie City in Yorkshire, Leeds. Our penultimate act was Sue Hicks and the poetry of the pubes. Closing the show was the absolute G&B favourite, the hilarious Mj Hunter. MJ told us about his sexual Feng shui, his rap cool and his unrequited Matalan romance.
