Sunday afternoon, Star of Kings

Steph and friend
We had another busy afternoon at The Star of Kings on Sunday. First to the mic was Declan Evans and why looking harder isn’t as easy as Stone island makes it look. It was then over to some ventriloquial comedy from Steph and her glamorous assistant (pictured). It was then over to Mac O’Donnell who reckons you know when your country has a weight problem when its personal trainers look like they work in Greggs. Elspeth Reid then told us she can live on exposure and skinny white latte’s, so is made for acting. We then had James L Reading and why losing your hair is ironically even harder if you’re tall..and clumsy. After James we had Jack Henison, aka postus punkus, who gave us several reasons as to why Alexa should never be allowed to run the emergency services. Judy Harris then told us she recently qualified as a doctor, but a silent movie doctor. So she can’t…if you…any time your meds… It was then over to Ollie Taylor and a day on the tube he’ll never forget before Tevin Everett explained the toxic relationship America has with its presidents. Closing the first half was Mr Punman, the puntastic Mark Rivlin. In his usual non-stop one-liner assault on the comedy senses, mark hit us with everything from autographed colostomies to survival of the feet tests and his menthol health.
After the break, and Jack winning a mug for his other half’s mate like a try gent, we got off to a great start thanks to Lisa Murphy and the Dulux car colour chart that can be any hue you like…from a distance. Shiv Sayti then reckoned even Dianna would have thought Prince Andrew’s interview was a car crash before Simon Moriarty told us about the Taliban’s great taste in crockery. Lina Haman then let us in on the secret of a successful relationship. It’s all about loving farts, apparently. Keeping with farts, Adrian Peyrotad then told us how to disassociate ourselves from them in polite company before Alice Bennett told us how much she loves shorter days, like a true slacker! The afternoon’s penultimate act was Sophie Bing and rugby, the sport for posh guys who didn’t get enough hugs. Closing the show was Callum Mackenzie, a man who can satisfy the most persistent hiccups and who suffers the indignity of middle class guilt.
So that as Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Sunday we have Caroline Madds.
