Thursday, March 21st, Royal George (Soho)

Steve Elswood
We had another fun night at The Royal George (soho) on Thursday. First to the stage was the hilarious Mj Hunter, a man who wonders if he’s cut out for threesomes. It was then the turn of Marc Salmon. Quick tip, never use his mug. Seriously, NEVER! After Marc was Indi Madray all the way from the UK’s Temple of Doom, aka Croydon. It was then over to Mac O’Donnell and why Cole sore August never took off. The tremendously trippy Peri Whyte was next with the question of just who decrees a dog food is new and improved. It was then over to Rodney Trotter’s stunt double, Declan Evans, before Chris Chapman told us his kid’s reckon he looks like a cabbie… They’re not wrong. Amogh Margoor then confessed to having once been confused as to why there were so many Indian restaurants in London…until he tasted British coking. Closing the first half was the brilliantly bonkers Stephen Catling and if slugs did comedy. And do have any idea just how difficult it is for a gay slug to come out to its hermaphrodite parents? No? Well neither did we.
After the break, and a bit of memory magic before the world’s most dangerous card trick, we got off to a great start thanks to Luke McCarthy who assured us to never trust a barber that sells hats. Brandon Charleston then explained that all good sex parties start with a finger buffet before Deniro Stocks let us in on a little secret: loving your neighbour as thyself might not always be great advice to follow. Gabriel Madden then told us why actions only speak louder than words if you’re a mime artist. After Gabriel was Steve Elswood (pictured) and everything from chocolate coins to K holes and the journey of a teen DJ. Our penultimate act was the fabulously funny Callum Mackenzie and why white wine can’t restain the stained liver. Closing the show was G&B’s reigning All Star, the fabulous Kim Hope. With a substantial contingent of antipodeans last night, Kim shared with them some essential tips on how to succeed in London and not get caught off guard by our polite bitch slaps.
So that was another fun Thursday at The Royal George. Headlining next Thursday we have Mark Vincent and Charlie Firth.
