Tuesday, July 4th, Star of Kings

It was a seriously fun night at The Star of Kings on Tuesday. Kicking the night off we had the fabulously funny Jack Spoole who’s on strike at the moment from his day job as a bomb disposal expert. It was then over to SJ Wyatt. Some days SJ feels they’re sad…other days they buy a pen. It was then over to Gracie Battson who is currently going through her fifth life crisis. After Gracie we had Andrew Bryant, who was doing his first ever stand-up gig. And the little f***er absolutely smashed it! And let’s all hope Bryan never finds out what IFYD means. Stacey Edwards was next with the slippery escape of the chicken fillet before Emmy Fyles gave us the definition of the ick: when someone does something so gross your virginity goes back. Closing the first half was Felix Parkin. Felix struggles with a serious and less spoken off addiction. He’s done some truly dubious things over the years for a bag of Harribo.
After the break we got off to a cracking start with Billy Kerr, who loves a pizza…just not as a recreational pursuit. It was then over to Lee VG (pictured). And if you’re wondering if he looks familiar, he gets that all the time. It’s the blue eagle from The Muppets. Louie Falls was next with his dad, aka the savage cum rat. The evening’s penultimate act was Amit Mistry. Amit’s mother was a big fan of ABBA. Not the group, the minimum exam results she expects from her kids. Closing the show was Darcy Moreland who gave the crowd a great cosi-livs tip to keep the food bills down: get yourself a motorbike helmet and wander into restaurants.
Well that was last night and what a great show it was. Headlining next Tuesday at The Star of Kings we’ve Callum Mackenzie and Vinny Ting.
