Tuesday, June 18th, The Bell

Don Biswas
Tuesday night at The Bell was a fun show. First to the stage was Paul Little. According to Paul’s doctors, tinnitus ain’t so bad as you’re never alone with ringing ears. Next was Eoghan Collins, half man, half homegrown balaclava. It was then over to Tony Carr who had a very tough childhood: there was no Sky TV back then! After Tony was Sonny Savage, aka Sonny Dick Savage, which isn’t his porn name; it’s his real name. We then had Holly Murtha who assured everyone that she does not have any daddy issues. Martin Ashworth then got into some 90’s nostalgia, back when hope was a thing. Jamie Byrne was next with the inherent machismic problems when dealing with electrical appliances beyond your manly capabilities. Closing the first half was the hilarious Declan Evans and why you should never take a builders estimate for a cab ride.
After the break, and a little bit of voodoo to freak everyone out, we got off to a great start thanks to Mark Nicholas and Poundland gold and glitter and cheap Papal memorabilia. After Mark was Rohan Ashar. You’d better laugh at Rohan’s stuff otherwise you’re getting a chair thrown at you. It was then over to Don Biswas (pictured). Don was forced to come out to his parents recently as a non-doctor or accountant. It’s been a very trying time for the family. Next was Connor Charlton. Connor’s accent gave him away right from the off: he’s circumcised! Tom Draper was after Connor with some hot off the press football poetry. Courtenay Inchbald was next and told us that he’s a direct descendant of Ned Stark. Our penultimate act was the musical fabulousness and guitar prowess of Joe da Costa before our headliner, Pam Ford, closed the night with the Spam Ford reclaimed meat set with added disco ball energy.
So that was Tuesday at The Bell. We’re at The Bell every Tuesday and Wednesday, with the exception of the last Tuesday of the month, which is next week. So we’ve no show on Tuesday, but Wednesday we have the brilliant Darcy Moreland and Ashish Suri headlining.
