Wednesdays we’re at The Bell and kicking the night off was the fabulous Indi Madray (pictured). Indi had some great tips on why you should never get a therapist from a Groupon deal. It was then over to Robin Cousins and why the butterfly is a really rubbish name for a swimming stroke. Next was Amber Phillips and why “she does comedy” isn’t that much of a compliment at family gatherings. After Amber was Phillip Reiss and why “speed Kills” shouldn’t be seen as a challenge. It was then over to Mac O’Donnell and why there’s no ice bucket challenge for herpes before Emma Peet gave us a wonderful musical ode to the London Underground. Keith Mendes then confessed just what he’d like to do with lady opportunity before Jens Rabiega told us all about his pendulum of pleasure. Closing the first half was the wonderfully weird Louis Fletcher.
After the break, and a little, giant card magic, we got off to a great start thanks to Declan Kennedy who has us all wondering just what it is about protestors and banana milkshakes. It was then over to Ben Orli and his fear of being eaten alive in his sleep by a tiger. Steve Tait was next with the true horror of night terrors: being a parent. Jamie Boder then introduced us to finger condoms before Em Jay (aka Michal Jenicek) told us he’s from the country that does the best quality bags of icing sugar. The evening’s penultimate act was Dónal Ó Catháin who lives in the European capitol of halal fried chicken. Closing the show was Declan Evans. Declan gave us some glorious Esssesxisms before telling us why he’ll never be a lifeguard…again.
So that was Wednesday at The Bell. Headlining next Wednesday we have Darcy Moreland and Ashish Suri.
