Tuesday, October 10th, Star of Kings

Tom Bridge
What a fun and busy night we had at The Star of Kings on Tuesday, made all the more delicious for everyone thanks to an awesome birthday cake (it was my birthday Monday) from Sallyann Fellowes. The first to the stage was the hilarious Isaac Kean who moved to The US for his girlfriend. She doesn’t live there; she just wanted him to leave the country. It was then over to Mark Vincent, the man who avoids being mugged by looking like he’d give them nits. Frances Jane was next with news that she really can’t handle her cheese. It was then over to Adam Wright, a guy who would probably lose in a fight…with himself. After Adam was Marc Cox. Marc’s other half married him for his mind. Now she neither mind’s nor cares. Hot on Marc’s heels was John Gadsden, the Liz truss of sex. Speaking of sex, our next act, Will Earle, teaches sex ed, but for him it’s only from a theoretical perspective. We then had Raj Kukadia who cracked the whole guest list thing in Ibiza. Him and his mates get in free because they look like the IT guys. Nick Gaughan was next with why The Church has a problem with quality massages. Closing the first half was the hilarious Richard Wheatley. Richard went to Hogwarts for the blind, where if you caught someone’s eye a teacher would make you give it back.
After the break, where traditionally we have some magic, we had a guest magician, Darren Smith. Darren showed just why he’s the magician you want on a night out if the drinks are expensive. After Darren we had the fabulous Donal Vaughan and the cultural appropriation of the dick pick. It was then over to Emmy Fyles and the things (aka men) that give her the ick. Toni Divic then told us that he’s only just discovered that his full head of hair was just a free trial. Keeping with the drama of the follicle was Pop Daddy (aka Paul Haworth) and the is he, isn’t he under the hat. Matt Bentley then explained why he’s not keen on old people before Lucy Clark introduced a new work to our vocabulary: slaunty – the slaggy aunt. Tom Bridge (pictured) was the evening’s penultimate act. Tom’s boss is a bit of an unreasonable bitch. Sadly Tom is self-employed. Closing the show was the wonderful Kim Hope. Kim took us on a taste test that ranged from the subtle undertones of butterfly tears and sun bleached hay to regret and consequences. Hilarious!
So that was Tuesday night at The Star of Kings. Headlining next Tuesday we have Seam Anderson and Phil Green. Hopefully see you then.
