Tuesday, September 3rd, The Bell

Will Pease
It was a fun show last night back at The Bell after our summer break. First to the stage was the hilarious Mac O’Donnell who’s trying hard to be a better person. However, turns out maybe just not enough. It was then over to Jamie Dean, a very shy man who still loses it if you suggest going to Cockfosters. Peter Withers then gave us a lesson on good microwave etiquette. We then had the legend that is Jimbo showed us how to do stand-up sitting down and new material old school. Rick Longley then told us that he studied at Oxford, but just for comedic reasons. Morgan DeVere then gave some great advice for hoarders before Blake Aidan explained the benefits of having your nan taxidermied. Closing the first half was the musical hilarity of Eoghan Collins and everything from Fringe advice on how not to flyer Germans to freud and massive pubes.
After the break we got off to a great start thanks to the brilliant Mj Hunter who’s in a very happy relationship…so he’s been told. Zuzana Spacirova told us if you’re gonna buy her flowers, leave in the thorns! Nathan Jacobs then told us why in Essex being bad at football and being gay can pretty much be seen as the same thing. Connor Bell then dropped a true bombshell: cake tastes better than broccoli!!!! It was then over to Nick Bain, a gay man who is permitted disabled parking on the grounds of his poor gag reflex. The evening’s penultimate act was Pyjama Man (aka Will Pease pictured), who had folks horsing around as a clown. Closing the show was the fabulously funny Declan Evans. Declan shared the best ever recipe for songs cake as well as where not to get your doctor to examine you.
So that was Tuesday at The Bell. Headlining next Tuesday we have Mj Hunter and G&B’s poet laureate, the brilliant Jack Scullion.
