G&B’s Christmas Girlpower Show

Kat Dellar
Monday night at The star of kings was our Christmas Girlpower show. Kicking things off was the fabulous Amber Phillips. Amber gave us an ode to Tory rule as well as a price guide for sibling love. It was then over to Georgia Thorp who assured the crowd that back in the 80s it was easier to get a mortgage, but much harder to come out to family and work. Becky Jade then told us why being brought up by a nurse was problematic; you never got a day off sick. Next was Ellie Ward, who still misses being part of a couple, but mainly for the Spotify premium. Belle Gold then wowed the crowd with some brilliant one liners and a poem that had us in tears of laughter. It was then over to Elspeth Reid who may or may not have been the weird kid at school who claimed she could speak to dogs. Amy Russell then told us of her landlord who seems to own a castle, but that’s soooooo not where he rents the rooms. Closing the first half was the brilliant Katherine Dellar (pictured). Kat gave someone in the audience something very important to fill. We didn’t check up on his progress, but I don’t need to know what’s good in the hood. So I’m ok.
After the break we got off to a cracking start thanks to some musical hilarity from Abi See and the Christmas single “Rishi Baby”. Charlotte Evans tried to reassure us she wasn’t just an entitled posh kid before G&B fave, Graciela Martin, brought us back to Rishi, a man whom she thinks should wax his hairy crack before the next PMQs. It was then over to Sheila Belo who gave us a double act with the scene stealing Rio. After Sheila was Mr Lorraine who has decided to be the guy people thinks she sounds like. It was then the turn of Pippa Chappell who apparently was conceived in 69, so it seems that is possible. The penultimate act was the marvellous musical comedy of Barbara Fernandez and a sing-a-long Christmas ditty that had us all glad we aren’t invited round to hers for Christmas dinner. Closing the show was the wonderful Sally firth (aka Siân Spry). Sian has endured many things over the years, mainly thanks to her other half, Roger. Sally’s always surprised Roger isn’t better at the sex because he gets so much practice when he’s on his own during the day.
So that was our last Girlpower of 2023. Headlining next Monday we have our dark comedy special, G&B’s Nightmare Before Christmas Show.
