Thursday at The Royal George was another packed and buzzing night. First to the stage was the hilarious Sonny Savage and the news about Costa Rica. Its was then over to Archie Keen, a man desperately in need of a titular circumcision. After Archie was Dean Helliwell and shagging doggy style in its true purist form. Tony Carr then gave us some advice on how to brighten up your street before Nate Patel told us about some retro size porn. Miraj Mehta then advised that there’s more to relationships than making someone laugh…quite a lot more it seems. Rob McAlone then had us imagine the bonding moments of a shared cubic le before our first headliner, Eoghan Collins, told us how much he’d swatted for his Moldovan quiz…pointlessly as it turns out.
After the break, and a little card magic, we got off to a great start thanks to Declan Evans, a man you never want to be on the receiving end of a rash demonstration with. It was then over to Atle Fretheim (pictured) and the sad tale of a man half his age and a woman twice his experience. After able was Nick Bartlett, a man with a genius son with a deep understanding of Boyle’s Law. Will Slack then explained the problem with white people before Daniel Goodburn let us in on the secret that he may or may not have had an extra sibling. After Daniel was Charlie Firth and the split personality accentry of class. Closing the show was the magical Harris Fellman and a magical onslaught of everything from vanishing lemons and cutlery to mind reading and cane productions.
So that was another buzzing Thursday at the newly refurbished Royal George. Headlining next Thursday we’ve G&B’s poet Laureate, the one and only Jack Scullion.
