It was another packed and buzzing night at The Royal George on Thursday. First to the stage was Fred Bell and the suspicious 5 second Zoom mute. After Fred was Sonny Savage and the philosophical question that has troubled him: does it rain in Heaven. Jonny Brace then gave us everything from cat songs to Costa therapy and Ryan Binkley. Jay Middleton then told us of his interesting New Year’s resolution: he wants to grow more…hair. Molly Tanner (aka Mary Taylor) told us why she’s happy she’s adopted before we got us some rapping fabulousness from QBoy aka Poof Daddy aka G&B’s fave rapper Marcos Brito. It was then over to Tony Carr and why Tik Tok might be an effective school discipline. After Tony was the wonderful Indi Madray, who confessed to dating a consultant for a bit, but knows how G&B feels about those people. Closing the first half was the brilliant David Ferguson. David has often identified as an ambulance, because he’s big, white, pushy, loud and steams from one crisis to another.
After the break we got off to a great start thanks to Noni (aka Leonore Michalski -pictured), who was on utterly cracking form, had us all in stitches thanks to tales from her grandmother. It was then over to Nick Bain who reckons the best title for his biography might be “Charlie Says”. After Nick was Stormy Pasha and his calf muscles before Neil Ben showed us just how much he can get in that small box of his. Eytan Bayme then gave us a preview of the phonetic alphabet we should all be using. Next was Nigel Wolfin who once and for all dispelled the notion that accountants are boring. Hot on Nigel’s heels was Nick Morey and why the revolution won’t be organised by the ADHT in crowd. Closing the show was the one and only, utterly hilarious Pam Ford. Pam was Pam to the max and gave us some great advice for wrist job novice.
Well, that was another great Thursday at Royal George Charing Cross Road. Headlining next Thursday we’ve Alex D. Love and Joe da Costa.
