It was an awesome Sunday afternoon at The Star of Kings on Sunday. First to the stage we had Mj Hunter and the gingers in Paris. Next was Amber Phillips and why MJ she reckons MJ has lots of imaginary friends. Paul Little then gave us an investment idea for “Jesus Nails”, the nails that’ll hold any job in place. After Paul was Jack Clerkin and the joys of discovering sex. Rohan Ashar then gave us the politics of the popadom before Ed Beeverman let us in on his favourite drug to get him through a midday wedding. Marigold Lately then had us gagging over warm milk before Rob McAlone had us all wondering if our drinks might be spiked. Cathy White then explained why Quality Street is better for certain apologies. After Cathy was Gary Monk and Shrodinger’s cat scan. It was then over to Barbara Fernandez and everything from the Berlin wall to Liza Minelli and wrecking balls. Closing the first half was Martina O’Sullivan, who taught us the difference between slag as a noun and slag as a verb.
After the break we had a very special treat for our audience with a WIP of The Dead Good Poets Society from John James Davies and Jack Scullion (pictured). Look, nearly all of our regulars know Jack and know I’m a bit of a fan boy of the craziness he and his poetry brings to the stage. Well you can now add John to this and watch it get even crazier. If you get the chance to see their show, grab a ticket.
